Social Distancing in a 1st grade classroom seems almost impossible somedays. Resources such as magnetic manipulatives and hands on tools can encourage engagement when students are struggling to persevere. New supplies in the classroom can build reinforcement and motivation for students who have limited exposure to creativity. While practicing social distancing, manipulatives can encourage more hands on learning and encourage creative thinking. Large, magnetic manipulatives that can be used in the front of the classroom can provide more opportunities for me as a teacher to work at the front of the classroom and build greater opportunities during whole group instruction.
