With a variety of resources, this project is meant to help students feel better in my classroom. First, with air purifiers and sanitizer I want to keep my students feeling safe and healthy. Feeling safe, clean, and in a sanitary environment is vital to learning. Second, to help my students feel ready for learning math I want to have a variety of snacks and treats available at any time. I plan to give rewards (candy) for participation and to have quick pick-me-up options available for students who either don't have immediate access to quality food or who just are feeling hungry during class. Third, having games and classroom activities and décor will help encourage my students to be more engaged in mathematics. More than just fun, each game or piece of classroom decor also teaches a good mindset, mathematical principle, or is meant to make students feel welcome. And finally, I request a few mathematical tools for students to use (new calculators, geometric solids, personal whiteboards) and a few quality instructional tools (whiteboard tools, grading stamps).
