Flexible seating gives students choice in the classroom in terms of their workspace. A variety of areas to work allow students to choose the space that is best for them on any given day. With the addition of a rug to our classroom, students can choose to sit and or lay on the carpet while completing independent, partner, and group work. The addition of comfortable chairs to use on the floor offers additional options and space for students. When given choice in where to work, student engagement is magnified , aiding in retention of concepts and encouraging creative and critical thinking.
