The past two years have been challenging for my students due to the pandemic. Many students started the year with learning gaps. Also, since we were in remote learning for most of last year, they did not have as many opportunities to work together in a classroom environment. The materials in this project will help provide me with the resources I need to meet my students' learning needs as readers and writers and to develop their social-emotional skills. We will use the books in this project for a variety of classroom activities and I will also select books for every student at their independent reading level to take home each night to practice. The students will be highly motivated by these non-fiction titles and popular fiction series. The white boards will be used daily for spelling, writing, and math practice. The wobble stool will be a great option for students when they are having difficulty sitting still and focusing. The game will provide opportunities for students to have fun while working together and building relationships. These materials will help my students gain the essential skills they need to learn in first grade.
