Our students are blending STEM and social studies with their interactive travel map. Using longitude and latitude the students will be charting their course as pioneers. They will be choosing 10 points along their path. We will be using makey makey, along with other materials, to put together a map. The map will have lights placed along their routes. The students will code and utilize the Makey Makey program to allow their route stops to light up and have an auditory component. Students will use these materials to make an interactive map display showcasing their path as an immigrant and ultimately pioneer.
