Many of my students have fallen behind, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. They live in an area where many families don't have access to reliable internet. So many students disappeared when distance learning was implemented. For this reason, my project focuses on engaging, hands-on materials as well as general classroom supplies that we often run out of before the school year is over. My classroom lacks engaging science materials, so many of the products I am requesting are exciting kits that align with our core science standards. I have also requested headphones, whiteboard markers, pencils, new student whiteboards, and coloring supplies. My students are very rough on these items, and my current set of whiteboards are riddled with graffiti from previous students. We also need more hands-on math manipulatives, and a few fun activites that will help the lower readers in our class. My students are awesome, sweet humans, but they don't always have the resources needed to really engage them in their learning. This project will be a really good start to making our classroom a truly engaging environment.
