Students and teachers come to my office looking for solutions to challenging behaviors in the classroom and throughout the school. I often use objects and books as learning tools for this purpose. Sand tray therapy is a great way for students to work through tough emotions in a fun and creative way. I also love to read to the students that come in. There are so many great children's books and games that help children understand appropriate behavior and process emotions in a funny or silly way that they can grow from. If I can help children understand their big emotions in an accessible way, they will remember those experiences far more than if I give a lecture. These items will help me help these special students in our school.
