Students will be exposed to a classic novel and short stories by Ray Bradbury. As they read and discuss the book they will analyze the text for literary elements and also examine the social, familial, and political conflicts that are relevant today. Reading Fahrenheit 451 allows my students to be prepared to address these issues in a classroom setting facilitated, at times, with co-teachers who offer different perspectives. Students will also be exposed to both a historical and futuristic world which provides interesting parallels to the world in which my students are now navigating. Poster frames allow me to showcase prints on my classroom walls which provide visual context for the novels students are reading.
