The supplies and materials I am requesting are meant to close the learning gap created by the pandemic. The school year has been full of challenges, uncertainty and worry. As a teacher my main focus is to provide a safe, loving learning environment at school, and sometimes at home. Having individual manipulative resources will make learning safe in the classroom and accessible to students even when they need to quarantine. The reading, math and science manipulative resources all can be sanitized or easily cleaned. Having individual manipulative resources will also provide students the opportunity to practice skills they are learning in class. Manipulatives are a great tool to keep students engaged in learning and give them the ability to be more hands on in the learning process. I have also requested items that will help my students with their social emotional learning, this is crucial with the wide range of feelings the pandemic has brought on. All of the resources requested are directly linked to the core standards we are required to teach our students. I am certain they will my students a second exposure to the world around them and give them extra practice with the skills needed to be successful and ready for first grade!
