When creating sound on a musical instrument, the most important part of the instrument is often the smallest thing... the mouthpiece. The mouthpiece is part of the actuator of the instrument and if you start with something bad when making a sound, you will also end with something bad. Funding this project will help all five hundred students in my classes have better musical experiences. By getting new mouthpieces for the advanced players in my classes, other mouthpieces become available for the beginners and for the general music student who will have the opportunity to make their own instrument.
