My fifth grade students spent the second half of their third grade year on shutdown. They lost the chance to be in the classroom and also in libraries. The best way for students to increase reading ability and gain an extensive vocabulary is through the reading of high quality literature. These books will allow each student to have their own copy to use and read from, will give me the chance to read and discuss them with my whole class. My students have already shown me that amazing stories excite them and these books will help enrich their reading experience.
