Covid19 has changed the way our students have been learning with extra time spent on screens and time by themselves. They have missed out on working with others and learning how to get along. They need interaction, time to explore, create, and develop their thinking and processing abilities. They can rise to the occasion when they are challenged. You don't know how much they can truly accomplish until they are given the chance. This is their chance.
Exploration activities will help my students develop fine motor skills, build positive relationships with peers, and learn to communicate with others. Students will use these activities on a daily basis in centers to explore and develop problem solving skills, increase their fine motor skills, and improve their ability to work with peers. They will benefit by having many diverse learning opportunities on a daily basis to challenge their ways of thinking. My goal for them is to become independent learners and have confidence in trying things they haven't tried before which in turn helps them develop higher self-esteem.
The STEM and Lego building and exploring activities will help my students develop important personal fine-motor skills as well as helping them learn how to interact, communicate and build positive relationships with other students in the classroom.
Covid19 has kept our little ones isolated and inactive, fearful of the future. I want to give them excitement and inspiration for what their future holds by giving them many chances to explore new things..
