I am looking to diversify my new second grade classroom with rich literacy for all students by including diverse texts into my everyday teaching and my classroom library. I want my students to feel represented, understood, and empowered. Having a diverse collection of books in my classroom will help support all students in finding titles they can connect with. I believe it is important to introduce students to a variety of authors and genres to enhance their learning. My goal with this project is to not only diversify my classroom library, but to increase interest in reading a wide variety of text to help my students grow into stronger readers
