As a first year teacher entering into the education field during COVID-19, supplying my students with the necessary tools has not been an easy task. The majority of my students frequently come to school without pencils, crayons, glue, scissors, and snacks and have become reliant on what little classroom materials we have. Between dwindling supplies and the encroaching possibility of remote learning, my goal is to ensure each student can be prepared, regardless of the circumstances. This project would allow my students to be provided with their own sets of new materials, as they can no longer share due to COVID-19. It would also provide me with new math and reading learning materials such as number and letter match ups, ten frame magnets, base 10 blocks, and letter writing activities. With these supplies, each student can feel safe knowing that they have their own materials, and at ease having what is needed to learn in or out of the classroom. This project would also fund individual white boards and 3 whiteboard markers for each student. These would greatly help us during in person and online instruction as my students could use them for response, writing and math practice, and as creative outlet. Whether in person or online, these necessary materials and supplies will prepare us to be up for the challenge of learning no matter what!
