Algebra tiles make a fun and easier to learn algebra topics. Since 6th graders are seeing abstract concepts like unknown variables, establishing strong background connections and laying down a clear foundation of the concept is crucial for their performance. Commonly, students have learned using Online algebra tiles which are helpful to visualize the concept, however, according to studies, students retain 70% more information in hands-on learning compared to passive learning where only 20% is remembered. Hence, it is my desire to help my students learn in the most effective way so that they can retain one of the most significant topics in math they will forever see in their next schooling years.
