Having hands-on samples will allow students to bring some of their two-dimensional learning into reality. Students love to see actual samples and relate that to the curriculum and current topics in class. Adding a bigger collection of minerals, rocks, and fossils to the classroom will help inspire more students in the areas of geology, paleontology, and general science. The last time we covered these geologic-related topics, I noticed that kids were really into handling and analyzing the various samples. I'd like to follow that interest and provide more samples to captivate their interest.
