Our project presents students with a number of critical thinking choices concerning practicality, nostalgia, and the overall theme of "what really matters." Astronauts can only bring 3.5 lbs. worth of personal items on their journey to space. I am asking my students to choose subtle items that represent their lives and giving them the opportunity to preserve them as a snapshot of who they were at 18 years of age. The donated materials of an iPad and VR glasses will play a prominent role in that treasured fossilization process, helping create and pause life as it was in 2022.
