When most people think of biology, they usually remember mitosis and meiosis. It is the epitome of life. My students will use these microscope slides to view cells in different stages of mitosis and meiosis. We currently only draw and diagram models of mitosis and meiosis. However, microscopes are the most important tool towards understanding these processes. Students get really excited and love using the microscopes in class. By getting students excited about a topic that includes hands on learning, they will be having engaging conversations with their peers. Students even love to take pictures of the things they view under the microscope.
