Everyone has sensory needs, this is especially true in my classroom. My students need a lot of sensory input for them to be successful in class. Imagine having an itch you can't scratch and how crazy it would drive you! This is how it feels when my students don't get adequate sensory input, their bodies don't have the right tools to let out these 'itches' and it's all they can think about. Sensory toys will allow my students to be successful in both school and life. Sensory toys will help them learn important coping skills by allowing them to self regulate thus allowing them to focus more on their academics. My goal in my class is to get each student to be as independent as they can be so they're ready to get a job and be an adult.
