How many students struggle in school for ANY of the following reasons: Things go too fast in the classroom; things go too slow in the classroom; they didn't do well the year before and are missing foundational knowledge; they need more time to process what they've heard; they're absent from key lessons and have fallen behind; they are on a lower reading level and can't understand the on-grade-level materials; they're bored out of their mind because they got lost 10 minutes ago but are too shy to ask for help; they're bored out of their mind because they learned this last year! Every student is unique, and that means that every student requires and deserves tailor-made education. How do we do it? Differentiated, flexible instruction. And differentiated instruction requires that students have 24/7 access to a library of learning materials. Many students learn best through videos, which combines the best of audio and visual learning elements. To help these students meet their unique learning challenges, I'm asking for help to purchase a class set of 40 headphones that will allow us the opportunity to let students access a range of audio-visual instruction materials, tailored to meet their needs.
