This year we have seen a lot of gaps and disconnect with education. My first graders' whole educational experience has been overshadowed by covid. They are missing basic skills from a lack of preschool and standard kindergarten. Hands on has always been one of the best approaches to learning. Students who are struggling often respond well to a more kinesthetic approach. These hands on science, math and, reading materials would offer students a kinesthetic approach to content curriculum. They would increase student engagement, and could be used whole group, small group, or individually. These materials would immediately be put to use in centers, guided reading, and whole group phonics. Even though we've been hands off due to Covid, I believe we can still be hands on for learning.
