Students came to school this year with a variety of mixed backgrounds. Many of my students came to me lacking some of the basic background knowledge to graph lines or solve equations because they simply lacked experience due to online learning challenges during COVID. I have found the best way to fill in the gaps that students have it to give them opportunities to collaborate and have discussions in class. Using these tools, such as whiteboards and Apple TV technology, I will be able to help my students show their thinking and critique the reasoning of others by more adequately displaying student work. I hope my students will be more prepared to enter the high school next year with confidence in their ability to talk about math and be part of the mathematical community.

About my class
