How does creating self-expression art help deepen my understanding of myself? My project is a series of art lessons that will focus on emotion & self-expression as well as personality and feelings through art. The lessons, with modifications for all grade levels, will cover the emotions of joy, anger, worry, grief, and bravery. As students take time to explore and celebrate their own unique personalities through superpowers, symbols, words, and emotions they will empower themselves through art and hopefully guide students through the important work of processing their feelings and emotions. Through the purchase of these paint markers, the students would be allowed to not only work with a medium that is fun but most of them have never even used a Uni-Posca marker! As you can see they are very expensive. Once we have these markers, we can use our tempura paint to place a layer of color on the background and then use the markers for adding details and colors on top. This will teach the kids about layering colors and patterns as well as learning how to mix mediums.
