My class is the first introduction a student has to CTE and potential class option in the future, as well as career possibilities. I give them a brief introduction of several pathways they can take including the arts, audio/visual technology and communications pathway. During this pathway students have the opportunity to create their own podcast or radio broadcast. The students love this exciting, but also very challenging, project! They start from the beginning and study all the different careers that go in to making a radio broadcast/podcast happen and then they actually go through the entire process! This project takes several weeks to put together. They've been doing the actual recording on their school Chromebooks, but the Chromebooks have very poor sound quality and are extremely limited on the programs that are compatible with this project.
