Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing, reduced contact, and even distance learning significantly decreased students' opportunities for hands-on learning. Through this lab, students will be able to make real-world connections and have an experience that will last a lifetime. Virulence and infectious diseases are a hot topic in our current day and age. Our students, along with the the rest of us, have experienced how the ongoing study of infectious diseases and their treatments are ever-changing. Students will have the first hand opportunity to learn about antibiotic resistance and how evolution and natural selection contribute to these changes.
