These materials will help provide sensory items to support more mindfulness and self-regulation activities with students in my office, school and at home. This will assist them in being able to use these supports more effectively throughout their day. These items will also support the use of meaningful and creative interventions and snacks during mindfulness/stress management groups. These types of items help to create more student engagement, which also leads to greater student learning and progress. The therapeutic books, sensory supplies mentioned above and other supplies like the white noise machine, white board and craft supplies all help to support students in receiving support in a more meaningful, engaging way, which leads to more meaningful progress. When students are provided with effective interventions in a way that engages them, they are much more likely to go on to make meaningful changes in their lives. This not only changes their lives, but has a lasting, positive impact on everyone around them throughout their life.
