Due to Covid, we found that students got lower grades than previous students did for their AAPPL test. I think the reasons may go like 1. We have school supplies but they are not enough for each kid, so we have to make the schedule and share the technology device with other teachers. 2. Students can read physical Chinese books due to limited proficiency in lower grade levels. They need teacher help guide reading. But if they have enough technology devices for every individual, then they can log in to the Level Learning Chinese website and read Chinese audio books there. Or they can log in to Duolingo to do vocabulary self-learning. Covid changes the way we teach, it brings us challenges but also we learn and add a lot of rich engagements and instruction from technological support. Thank you for helping our students create a better Dual Language Learning environment.
