The use of a bigger variety of games will draw more students into the library to play. This will encourage students to meet more of their peers and interact with them. This will also help teach students how to play with others. I have seen students welcome other students that are being left out, so students are getting to know those out of their normal friend group. Some board games are meant for 2 players while others work well in larger groups. This will allow everyone to have a chance to play games. Sometimes the popular games get taken first, so by having a nice variety, all students will have the opportunity to play their games. Also, by creating a welcoming space with decor and chairs, students will want to come into the library if they need a quieter space to relax and read instead of playing board games. While some students love to interact with others, some really just want the library to read. The goal is to create a space where all students will feel like they belong in there. I do not want to leave out the quiet readers, so creating this welcoming reading space will help reach all of the students at my school.
