I am requesting two iPads, cases and screen protectors that they can use to record their progress and share with each other. I often have my students record their playing. I use it as a tool to assess their progress, visually see and modify their posture and playing habits, and to share their talent with other members of the class. It is a great tool that has become very effective in their growth as a musician. During the Covid-19 pandemic, many of the students at my school have not had access to computers with cameras, microphones, and even internet. Some students have been unable to take their large instruments home, due to parents working and a lack of transportation. All of these factors make recording themselves outside of class a difficult task. These iPads will allow all students to have the option of recording in the classroom, instead of finding outside sources. As the option to record in the classroom becomes available, students will have not have to worry about how to record their assignments at home. They will grow in their confidence as a musician as well as in their abilities to play together as a group.
