All of my students have days where they are a little more on the wiggly side. By providing more flexible seating options, I will be able to ensure that each student has some choice in where they sit in the classroom. This will help increase their attention as well as their confidence. Hands-on learning in all content areas is so important for young students. By having more hands-on materials and games at my disposal, I will be able to create engaging lessons and interventions for the wide range of abilities that I see in my class. Now more than ever, it is essential for students to have access to variety in their learning to continue learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. I have seen many students who have been affected socially and emotionally due to COVID-19. I hope to provide more Social and Emotional learning opportunities throughout the day to help students grow in confidence, mindfulness, and self-regulation and to have my classroom be a community of caring and calmness.
