After teaching through the Covid 19 Pandemic I see many educational needs. The math gaps are severe and I need more manipulatives for my students to help them grasp concepts they missed during 2020 and 2021. I would love teacher manipulatives and visual aids as well as individual student sets as to keep germ and sharing to a minimum. I am also seeing that students need more hands on and visuals in science. I teach a variety of Earth systems and a few body systems, and while videos and my meager drawings may help, students being able to touch and take apart different elements of these science systems will aid in their learning and understanding. Students need to feel joy in their education again and not feel the trauma and stress that seems to be cascading around them. Having heart and lung models will allow our students to visualize the parts of the human body that we study in our science units. Having hands on math manipulatives for each student will help students gain greater understanding of the math concept being taught.
