In junior high, students start using calculators in their math classes. Many of the students in my school cannot afford even a basic one. We have class sets, but those cannot go home. That leaves many students with an inequitable situation at home, as they don't have access to a calculator when completing their homework. It may seem like a minor thing, but it will help bridge the gap of learning for many of these students. They are at a disadvantage, when they don't have access to the same tools as their peers. Please make a difference for these students and give them the basic tools they need to succeed.
