The games I have chosen will be used in the classroom setting to help engage students in foundational math and reading concepts that will heighten their understanding of foundational skills they are lacking because of the recent pandemic. I want to give my students a large variety of games and fun while learning with their peers during small groups. Having my students engage in fun and playful learning opportunities will help them deepen their understanding of multiplication, division, and the world around them without the stress or boredom of flashcards, and worksheets. It will help them become students who want to learn. These small group activities will also give students the opportunity to teach each other as their experience with the concepts moves them from emerging learners to masters. Including these two chapter book sets in my classroom library will allow us to complete book studies and projects to further their vocabulary and reading comprehension. My ultimate goal is to always challenge my students with new, interesting books that will teach them about new cultures while deepening their love for books.
