Throughout the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, many educational programs pivoted to virtual learning. Virtual learning is rarely ideal, especially in early childhood when children need face-to-face socialization and access to manipulatives for hands-on learning. It is very difficult to duplicate such experiences in a virtual setting. The COVID-19 pandemic began when my current kindergarten students were preschool age. All of their school experience up until now has been impacted by the pandemic. Some students have not had access to hands-on learning materials for math and literacy until this school year. The materials I requested provide students with opportunities to build key skills in literacy, math, and play in fun, engaging ways.
