My students struggle with their confidence in math. They definitely struggle sharing their work when asked to write it on the board. I now have a TV in my classroom and with the iPad and Apple Pencil stylus that I have requested, a student can sit at their desk and write their work on the iPad to project onto the TV. They will be more willing to share their work that way than to stand in front of the class and do it. Showing work is a great way for students to model their mathematics which is one of the standards in the core for Mathematics. The iPad and Apple Pencil stylus will give my students the ability to share their modeling with their classmates while still helping maintain their social-emotional health by not stressing them out and standing in front of their peers. My hope is that this will build their confidence and increase their willingness to stand in front of their peers and share their work.
