When I use these books to read with my students, we will read together, discuss, and write about connections we make to ourselves, to the world around us, and to other literature we have experienced. We will learn to accept and appreciate the different cultures, circumstances, and experiences which belong to others. Children will come to identify with feelings belonging to the characters in these novels. When my students read and connect with the characters in these books, they will be better equipped with the caring compassion to connect with the world as they grow up.

About my class
