As it stands, I only have enough working headphones for five of my students to use at a given time. To get a supply of headphones, enough for each student in my class would be extremely helpful. This would provide me with the opportunity to have whole-class technology/instruction time yet still gear learning towards individual needs and skill levels. Because the headphones provide a natural sound barrier from other iPads being used in the same area, students will stay focused on the task in front of them rather than on those around them. And because the programs they use on their iPads are programmed to teach at their specific level, students' individual learning will benefit greatly. Because of COVID-19, we have relied on technology and our knowledge and skills to use it more than ever before. These headphones will provide me with more opportunities to help students learn how to effectively use and navigate the technology available to them. In essence, this will help them establish strong foundational technology skills, which are an essential part of what we do in our everyday lives.
