Understanding that a compass points north compared with why a compass points north are two separate concepts. What makes magnetism more difficult is it looks like magic. We can't see the magnetic forces until something moves. The magnetic field demonstrator will help make these seemingly 'invisible' magnetic forces, visible. The additional supplies listed will similarly be used to help explore and understand the 'invisible' things around us like magnetism, gravity, types of light, etc. These can be used in class or in virtual learning demos. When we discuss orbits and planetary motion, the trippense elementary planetarium can help make this planetary motion easier to understand rather than just imagining it.
