These Decodable Readers will be used in small groups where we will effectively bridge learning from decoding to reading comprehension to oral fluency. These phonics skills will help increase reading practice and build each students confidence and therefore build reading success. We will practice our decoding skills instead of relying on pictures or guessing. We will also expand our vocabulary which will help us become better readers. Learning these explicitly taught phonics skills will also help us become better writers as we move from a single grapheme to words and eventually sentences. Being able to use Decodable texts will help my students become fluent and independent readers.
