These items will be used in some way to help students with their social-emotional well being. I put wish list items that will help build my calm corner such as squishy toys, stress balls, and books. As a first year teacher, I have limited resources to help my students who deal with anxiety, so these items would be very beneficial. In our class, students receive points when I notice that they are being respectful, responsible, kind, staying on task, using a growth mindset or being resilient. When the students have earned a certain amount of points, they can earn prizes. My students thrive on positive reinforcement and this has been a great way to motivate students to always do their best.
