What an amazing organ the heart is! When my 4th graders are learning about the circulatory system or when my 5th graders learn about exercise's effect on the heart, what better way than to actually listen to your own heart beat? Students will not only learn about this incredible organ, but they will learn how to calculate their heart rate, ways to keep their heart healthy, and why the heart is so important. What better way to inspire these future doctors and scientists than to be able to actually apply the lesson to themselves?!
