My students are trying hard to catch up on all the learning missed during the pandemic. Having decodable readers that they are able to take home to practice will help them catch up to a 2nd grade reading level. At school they will use headphones to access online programs that will enhance the classroom reading curriculum. I also asked for some fun Language Arts, Vocabulary and sight word games to make learning these skills fun and engaging. Students in my classroom are not exposed to enough new vocabulary at home and when schools were shut down, this became a real problem. I am hoping I can make up for some of that learning loss.
