Much of the items requested are art resources and classroom supplies that will help with social-emotional learning. Markers, paper, glue, colored pencils, oil pastels, to name a few, help to create literacy projects that encourage self-expression and creativity. Giant, sticky, chart paper helps to keep learned content visible and available, as opposed to a whiteboard that must be erased and forgotten. Chart paper is also a great way to showcase student work and allows students to collaborate with others to create group projects. Classroom organizing items such as paper bins, book bins, and file organizers help keep the classroom environment pleasant and appealing. A colorful, vibrant classroom is a place that students want to come to and spend their day. Bulletin boards and borders help to showcase the great work my students have been completing. Items such as birthday stickers and pencils help students feel they are special and valued. Several items encourage student collaboration and creativity. Sixth grade is tasked with learning about ancient world cultures, teacher resource books have been requested to help with lesson planning about the ancient cultures, along with reading books for additional information. Classroom supplies are necessary to keep the flow of learning constant and seamless. Students in my classroom like hands-on activities and the chance to showcase their learning. Since the pandemic students are eager to learn, with these resources I can engage and challenge every one of my students. Having an array of learning activities is ideal because every student learns at their own pace. If this project is funded I will have a great toolbox of supplies and resources to help my students learn.
