At the beginning of the year, a lot of my students said that they really "hated" to read. I know that this is because they've felt uncomfortable with reading from past experiences such as not feeling smart enough or feeling bored, along with many other reasons. I told them it's just because they haven't found the right book yet. Of course I got a lot of eye rolls and was told that was a typical teacher answer. But I know that it's true! If I am able to fulfill this request, I will be able to update my own classroom library with high interest reading material for not only my reluctant readers, but all of my students.
