During COVID most students have not been able to enjoy whole group read alouds at the carpet. It has been really difficult to engage students without the close proximity of "carpet time". Students have not felt as connected to one another as they have been in past years. Having books in hand during whole group reading time will increase camaraderie and emotional closeness within the classroom. We will all be working on the same book and learning the same lessons from enriching literature. Class read-aloud time brings a sense of community and learning within the group.
