Play therapy helps children learn more helpful behaviors, understand their emotions, and gain insight about resolving inner conflicts. They also learn self-control, self-respect, problem solving, communication skills and the ability to express their feelings. Play is the child's language when they don't have the language to express their needs. Play relieves feelings of stress and boredom, stimulates creative thinking and exploration and regulates emotion. More referrals are being made for additional SEL support at school while identifying several areas of delays in communicating students wants/needs. All accommodations students receive are through their IEPs
