My project will continue to help support my students and their overall emotional and early educational needs. Due to COVID-19 many of my students are in need of increased emotional support and reassurance of thoughts and feelings. As a school social worker I have learned that early intervention, and social emotional learning are pertinent to the students growth and learning in the classroom. Don't Go Bananas - A CBT Game for Kids will help me teach students how to control strong emotions and will be utilized to facilitate small social skills groups with 1st-4th graders. The Monkey Mind Meditation Deck will be used as a tool to work with students in crisis as I help them calm down. The Active Kids Chair – Wobble Chairs will be used to provide students with an alternative seating placement in their classroom if needed. The materials I have chosen for my project will provide me the tools needed to teach social skills, coping skills, self regulation, and improve the overall mental health of my students.
