Most of my students don't even remember life pre-pandemic. They have become so dependent on digital devices that they lack many physical and social skills needed for their education. Students have been restricted in who and how they could interact with others. These critical supplies and toys will help kids have more opportunities to engage and interact with peers utilizing tools that we all grew up loving. These supplies will help create opportunities for children to use fine and gross motor skills, be creative to build and explore more, encourage physical exercise in a fun manner, and help build social skills through teamwork, interaction, and imaginative play. Recess will be even more enjoyable and effective as they work on developmental and social skills. The build-it and then play-on-it construction toy set and the fort-building set will be excellent tools in our classroom, especially on days when cold weather or poor air quality routinely prohibit children from playing and exploring outdoors.
