It's hard to sit at a desk on a hard chair day after day and still try to focus and learn. I plan to offer these different seating options to my students. By the time students reach 5th grade we are trying to teach students responsibility through self regulation while working independently. Flexible seating is one way to help students achieve this goal. I also plan to create a calm down corner and the bean bag chairs will be used there. This allows students to calm down within the classroom setting. As a result of Covid 19 my students are struggling in their mental, social, and emotional health. These items will help their mental well being which will translate into their academic success.The remaining items which I am requesting will be used for hands on science experiments. I will use these items to carry out density experiments and chemical reactions. These items will allow for the experiments to be hands on for individuals in the classroom which will then make these lessons memorable.
