We have 750 students in our school and the effects of covid have not missed us. Students have not been writing and publishing their work. as much as they need to. After two years of covid, my district adopted a new Science and Language Arts program without funding the supplies and resource for science. One of our standards is to look at items close up that you can’t see with the naked eye. We have only had 1 microscope to do this with so only 2 students at a time get to use it. How great will it be to let the whole class look up close at snow crystals, carpet fibers, paper, drinking fountain (gross but awesome!) and more. Hands on science is so fun and engaging and really makes students excited about being at school, especially when they’ve had to be at home either because of sickness or quarantine. My students will love these new materials that will make science that much better.
